The reverse-swell trick
Any sound with a long decay becomes a riser when reversed: a crash cymbal turns into the classic whoosh that introduces a chorus, a reverb tail becomes the ghostly swell before a vocal entrance. Reverse the sound here, then cut it to exact length in the MP3 cutter so the loudest sample lands on the downbeat. Too quiet next to the mix? The volume booster fixes that. And smooth edges on both ends come from the fade tool - a reversed sound often starts with an abrupt cut where the original ended.
